On the 25th and 26th of May 2024, one of the most important sporting events of our territory will take place: the 49th edition of “100 km del Passatore” ultramarathon, organized by the ASD 100 km del Passatore.

Named after the traditional figure of Romagna folklore, this race is also valid as an official stage of Fidal Assoluto and Master Italian Championship.

The 3000 confirmed participants are ready to face the long route connecting the city of Florence to Faenza, driven by the values of sportsmanship and determination that characterize the race from its very beginning.

The passion and enthusiasm unite participants, the crowd and particularly the over 500 volunteers that make it possible to safely run the race every year, thanks to the several refreshment and first aid points along the route.

The various sponsors - including Fonderia Morini - have also contributed to the success of the event, despite the economic damage caused by the cancellation of last year’s edition due to the flood that hit Romagna hard just few days before the event.

Our company is proud to be supporting an ambitious sports project of the Ravenna territory.  The “Dilettantistica FarrVela” Sporting Association, established by a group of young sailors from Emilia Romagna and their parents, intends to create a journey that is one of a kind in Italy. The young participants come from different nautical Circles (Circolo Velico Ravennate and Circolo Nautico del Savio), where they learned both sailing and regatta racing skills, and where friendships were formed as well as the collaboration that led to the idea of exploring a even more complex world: offshore sailing, generally a prerogative of adult and expert sailors.

Green rhymes with dream, but when we talk about corporate eco-sustainability it’s best to keep our eyes open. Terms such as ‘environmental friendly’, ‘eco-sustainability’ or ‘green economy’ are too often used exclusively for marketing purposes, without any actual change in the production cycle. This unfair practice is called green washing, a misleading communication strategy aimed at building a deceptively positive corporate image in terms of environmental commitment.

GIFA, the world's leading trade fair for foundry technology, took place in the halls of Messe

Düsseldorf on 12-16 June 2023. Many German and International exhibitors met at GIFA, with a supporting program also involving numerous seminars, congresses and lectures. It therefore represented the ideal opportunity to keep up with the latest trends and technology innovations regarding foundry solutions.

Our supplier and partner Foseco – foundry division of VESUVIUS plc – was one of the exhibitors at GIFA 2023. Covering more than 900 m² in Hall 12, Foseco stand presented to the public many of its recent innovations for non ferrous foundries, including the new feeder system FEEDEX NF1, already in use at our plant and developed by the collaboration between Foseco and Fonderia Morini.

Foseco developed its stand around three key themes considered crucial to the future of the foundry industry: Sustainability, Innovation and technology & Knowledge and partnership.

Sustainability, of course, was an essential topic discussed at the exhibition: the stated goal is to improve casting yields and quality, reduce consumption of energy and materials and consequently cut harmful emissions. The new products showcased at GIFA will help foundries operate more sustainably.

Unfortunately, due to the massive flood that hit our region in May 2023 and damaged our premises, it wasn’t possible for us to be present at Foseco stand, but we’ll continue to work closely with our partner on the design of new products.
