People, environment, territory: social responsibility in Fonderia Morini

Companies’ contribution can make a difference to the social and economic wellness of the communities around them.

This is not just a cliché or an abstract concept: Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is a value more relevant than ever for modern companies, because it also affects their image and reputation. The European Union defines it as the capacity to meet the needs and expectations of the customer and other stakeholders, such as staff and the local community.

From a practical point of view, corporate social responsibility means interventions and investments aimed at specific areas. These include, for example, environmental sustainability, charity, volunteering and the act of improving labour policies.

In Italy, according to the IX Report on corporate social commitment in Italy, in 2019 almost one billion and eight hundred million Euros were invested in activities concerning Corporate Social Responsibility and sustainability. These investments focused primarily on internal initiatives, such as staff training, and secondly on the interventions aimed at improving the well-being of the territory and its communities.

According to Fonderia Morini, social responsibility is represented by a constant commitment in the following areas: workers welfare, attention to the environment and the support to the territory and its Community.

Fonderia Morini and Employee Wellness

Fonderia Morini was born as a family company in 1959. It is no surprise, therefore, that in the more than 60 years of activity, Workers have been at the heart of the Company.

For this reason, the company is committed to put their well-being first, as well as guaranteeing fair and dignified working conditions.

Fonderia Morini and environmental issues concern

Attention and respect for the environmental issues are some of the core values of Fonderia Morini's mission.

This is shown by both current investments in machinery and equipment (with an eye on sustainability) and future investments, that are part of the company plans in the renewable energy field.

Fonderia Morini: Cotignolese community and territory commitment

Fonderia Morini sponsors two sport clubs in the area of Cotignola (Ravenna), near the company plants: a cycling club (the Società Ciclistica Cotignolese) and a football club (the ASD Calcio Cotignola).
