ALSTOM has played a significant role in the railway industry for many years. In Italy, the company has produced trains for 160 years, traction systems for 60 years and signalling systems for 90 years.

The company also boasts two seats of excellence: one in Savigliano (CN) for Pendolino high-speed trains and regional trains, and one in Bologna, for railway signalling and traction systems.

ALSTOM's major achievements include more than 500 Pendolino trains built in Italy and sold in 13 countries, more than 400 regional trains for public, private and regional transport operators and ERTMS level 2 systems for Italian high-speed lines, the first in Europe to be equipped with the new interoperable standards.

The inspections carried out by the company’s European quality managers take place every four years.
